I have to admit that the location is really good. When you are out on the street, there is only 400 metres to Empire State Building, less than 1 km to Madison Square Garden and Macy´s. Nearest subway line R is also near. Rooms are quite ok, but the building is old. There are TV and air-conditioning.Only minus is that there is no restroom nor shower in these rooms.I stayed here also two years ago so I can compare my experiences.Both times there were a lot of european tourists.

The Latham is a budget hotel right off 5th Avenue, and only 5 blocks from the Empire State Building. A short walk to all subways, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and Grand Central Station.....

Rooms are with shared bathroom facilities and include amenities such as telephones, air conditioning and color TV.

Make the Latham your headquarters in New York and have plenty of money left over for Broadway Theater, Fifth Avenue Shopping, and innumerable fine restaurants.

It is a simple hotel in a location near the subway, but at night there isn`t many people in the street. The good point in my opinion is the cleanliness. The worse point is value I thought expensive for it offer.
